Redeeming an invite read uses_count, checked the cap in JS, then did a
non-atomic uses_count = uses_count + 1 write AFTER creating the membership.
Two concurrent redemptions of a max_uses=1 invite both passed the check and
both created a member, and the counter under-counted.
Fix: claim a use ATOMICALLY before creating the membership via a
compare-and-swap on uses_count (lib/invite-claim.ts) — the UPDATE only writes
when uses_count still equals the value the cap decision was based on, so of two
racing claims exactly one wins. The loser re-reads and retries while capacity
remains (multi-use invites unaffected). On a failed membership insert the claim
is rolled back so a slot is not burned.
Extracted to lib/invite-claim.ts (out of the 'use server' surface, unit-tested).

Per-file type-only fixes surfaced after the Supabase client was correctly
typed. All fixes preserve runtime behavior; no any/ts-ignore/ts-expect-error.
- lib/supabase/client.ts: annotate the browser client as SupabaseClient<Database>
(same ssr/js drift as server.ts; fixes it centrally for all callers).
- Supabase embedded-select joins whose FK metadata is missing from the
generated types are bridged with `as unknown as <target>` + a TODO to remove
after regenerating types/database.ts.
- setState optimistic-update variance and raw <select> enum values cast to the
precise element/union type; .insert payload fields (Json, enums) given the
precise column type via satisfies/field casts.
- Added narrowing guards where a value was legitimately nullable (comms channel,
public form page) without changing the intended path.
The 14 remaining errors are confined to the four files fixed in Phase B (real
bugs + the tautological actions.test rewrite). 639 tests still green.

The inbound-ingest matcher read a stored card_uid as both decimal and hex,
which mis-attributed all-digit uids (a stored "16" is hex 0x16 = 22, but it
wrongly matched a decimal poll of card 16) and was conceptually wrong.
HeatSync stores the uid as hex (the grant encoder requires it) and the ?z
log / webhooks report the decimal card number, so cardMatchesEvent now
matches a reported decimal when hexInt(storedUid) equals it, and matches a
webhook card_uid by exact string. This removes the false positive while
keeping every legit match. Attribution is audit-only (never an access
decision) and inert until a space enables ingest; no migration.
Also records the pass-63/64 door-epic deploy state and the pass-65 audit in
the handoff log.
Phase 4 (migration 053): pull entry/denied events into door_access_log and
match each card to a member, via two transports sharing one ingest core.
Poll: a CRON_SECRET-guarded /api/cron/door-ingest reads each opted-in
native-HeatSync connection's ?z log through the existing hardened executor
and parses it (firmware-characterized, best-effort ring buffer). Webhook:
/api/door/inbound/[connection] accepts pushed event JSON authenticated by a
per-connection bearer secret from the vault. Both dedupe on
(connection_id, dedupe_key) so re-polls and retries are no-ops. Adds an
inbound config panel to /door/manage.
Phase 5 (migration 054): admins define api_buttons that fire a configured
HTTP call (full verbs + headers + body) when an authorized member presses
them, through the same hardened egress (now shared between callDoor and the
new callApi). Each button carries a required_permission (default the new
apicall.invoke code); members see only buttons they may press. Builder at
/door/buttons with a door-template preset; members press from /doors. Every
press is recorded in api_call_log with secrets redacted.
Both subsystems are inert until an admin enables inbound on a connection or
creates a button. 624 unit + 50 integration tests; migrations applied
top-to-bottom in schema.sql; types and docs updated.
Edge URLs like https:example.com parse to protocol https: but lack //,
which the migration-050 CHECK rejects -- the admin would see a confusing
save failure instead of a clear validation error. Require the prefix so
the Zod boundary matches the data layer. Fail-closed either way; no
security impact.
Notification preferences (migration 048):
- Per-member opt-out of muteable categories (bookings, classes, forms,
admin alerts); billing is always-on. Opt-out model, default on.
- Dispatcher reads prefs and marks muted outbox rows 'skipped' instead
of sending; pure isMuted logic, fail-open on a prefs lookup error.
- notification_preferences table (default-deny RLS); /me toggles and
self-view via validated service-client actions.
Alternate dues payment methods (migration 049):
- Admin sets external pay-here URLs per platform (PayPal/Zeffy/Venmo)
in /settings; members see active ones on /me and pay off-platform;
the treasurer reconciles manually (platform pre-tagged). https-only.
- dues_payment_methods table (SELECT space member, write admin/board).
/me visual pass:
- Restore the chip/preset profile editor (skills/interests/willing-to/
affiliations); promote ChipInput and presets to shared modules.
- Gate the Stripe pay-dues button on whether the space has Stripe
configured; show external links or a contact-admin note otherwise.
Third-pass audit finding. renderShell auto-linkifies any https?:// in
body lines so the manageUrl line becomes a clickable link in the HTML
email. The same regex would happily turn a malicious URL injected into
a user-controlled field (member display_name, equipment / class / form
title, submitter label, space name) into a clickable link.
In Phase 2 dues emails this was self-only: the recipient is the same
member whose display_name appears, so self-phishing is silly. Phase 4
introduces the first email type where one user's display_name lands in
a different user's inbox: form_submission_admin embeds the submitter's
display_name (or, when the form was submitted anonymously and an email
match attributed it to a member, that member's display_name) in an
email read by every forms.manage holder. An authenticated member can
set display_name to "Click https://evil.com for free stuff", submit a
form, and the admin's inbox now has a clickable phishing URL.
body.email is Zod-validated against email format so the typed-email
path is closed, but display_name (z.string().min(1).max(100)) is a
free string. No format restriction will catch a determined attacker.
Mitigation: stripUrls(s) replaces https?://\S+ with [link]. Applied to
every user-controlled input across all four renderers (dues, booking,
class, form) including spaceName, memberName / recipientName, equipment
/ class / form title, location, and submitterLabel. manageUrl, which
buildManageUrl constructs from NEXT_PUBLIC_APP_URL or a Stripe-
authenticated webhook host, stays untouched and remains the only
linkified URL in the rendered email.
5 new tests cover the new attack vector (form_submission_admin) and
defense-in-depth across booking, class, and dues renderers. Suite 572,
build clean.
Two findings from an ultrathink audit of the Phase 4 work.
(1) members_with_permission was callable by any PostgREST client. Postgres
grants EXECUTE on new functions to PUBLIC by default, and this codebase
has no existing REVOKE pattern. The function returns a SET of member_ids
for any (space, permission) pair, so without a lockdown ANY authenticated
caller could enumerate "who has permission X in space Y" for spaces they
are not even members of, learning member_ids and the permission
distribution. user_has_permission has a narrower exposure (per-uid
boolean) and is needed by anon/authenticated for RLS-policy evaluation,
so it stays callable; the new function is locked to service_role since
the only legitimate caller (the form-submission fan-out) goes through
the admin client. Migration 047 + schema.sql now REVOKE EXECUTE FROM
PUBLIC and GRANT TO service_role.
(2) The Phase 4 enqueue blocks in equipment.ts (reserve, cancel) and
classes.ts (signUp, cancelMySignup waitlist promotion, updateSession
session-cancellation fan-out) used the shared helpers, but the helpers
themselves were not internally best-effort. The Stripe webhook's
original enqueueDues wrapped its entire body in try/catch so a thrown
member-lookup error could never bubble into the money path; my refactor
removed that inner wrap and relied on enqueueNotification's
best-effort. resolveMemberContact and getSpaceName could still throw on
a transient supabase network error, which would surface to the action
return value after the underlying mutation already committed: the
client would see an error even though their booking, signup, or
session-cancellation succeeded. Fixed at both layers: the helpers now
swallow throws internally (returning null / empty), and each call site
in equipment/classes is wrapped in try/catch around the lookup chain so
secondary action-specific queries (equipment name+location lookup,
promoted-signup session lookup, session-cancellation signup fan-out)
also cannot leak. forms.submitForm already had the wrap from P4d.
2 new helper tests pin the best-effort behavior; suite 567, build
clean.
submitForm now enqueues two kinds of notifications, gated per the design:
- form_submission_received: ONLY when the submitter is authenticated
(members or public_auth visibility). Recipient is the verified auth
email (user.email), never the typed body.email. Anonymous public
submissions skip the confirmation because confirming to a typed
address is a victim-spam vector.
- form_submission_admin: one row per member who holds forms.manage in
the space (mirrors the forms-guard / forms RLS gate). Dedupe by
(submission, admin) so a replay is a no-op.
Finding all permission holders without N round-trips needs a new SQL
helper. Migration 047 adds members_with_permission(sid, perm): the
inverted, set-returning form of user_has_permission, with the same
current/late status gate (046) and the same admin shortcut +
space_role_permissions / user_effective_roles fallback. Additive,
introduces no new tables or policies; existing callers unchanged.
Mirrored into schema.sql; types/database.ts updated.
renderFormEmail + formDedupeKey live in notifications-logic; 6 new
render/dedupe unit tests cover both types, fallback labels, escaping.
Suite 565, build clean.
signUpForClass enqueues class_signup_registered or class_signup_waitlisted
based on the RPC return shape; recipient is the affected member, so a
manager signing someone else up still emails the target. cancelMySignup
enqueues class_signup_promoted to whoever was bumped from the waitlist
into the session (the promoted_id returned by class_cancel_tx).
updateSession, when status flips to 'cancelled', fans out a
class_session_cancelled email to every still-active signup (one row per
member, dedupe by session + member).
No type for plain self-cancel: cancelMySignup is self-only and the rule
is "only when someone other than the affected member cancelled," so it
has no caller.
Adds renderClassEmail + classDedupeKey to notifications-logic; 9 new
render/dedupe unit tests cover each type's subject + body and the
session-cancelled per-member dedupe shape.
Suite 559, build clean.
reserveEquipment now enqueues a booking_confirmed email to the booked-for
member (always; a manager booking on someone else's behalf still emails
the target). cancelReservation enqueues a booking_cancelled email ONLY
when the actor is not the affected member, so self-cancels stay silent.
Adds renderBookingEmail + bookingDedupeKey to lib/notifications-logic.ts
(extracts a shared renderShell at the same time so the 6 upcoming
templates do not duplicate the HTML wrapper). 6 new render/dedupe unit
tests cover subject lines, range + location lines, fallback copy when
names are missing, and HTML escaping of injected names.
Suite 550, build clean. No schema change (the notifications.type column
is text), no dispatcher change.
Extracts resolveMemberContact, enqueueNotification, getSpaceName, and
buildManageUrl into lib/notifications/enqueue.ts. The Stripe webhook's
enqueueDues now composes them instead of inlining the member lookup +
upsert. Zero behavior change (same recipient resolution, same upsert
shape, same best-effort wrap, same idempotency via (space_id,
dedupe_key)). Prepares P4b-P4d (equipment/classes/forms enqueue) which
would otherwise copy-paste the same plumbing four times.
12 new unit tests cover the helpers: member lookup hit/miss, upsert
shape, recipient skip on missing-@, best-effort no-throw on error or
exception, URL fallbacks. Suite 544, build clean.
Deferred deeper-audit P1. validateDoorTarget only string-checked the
host; a bare fetch did its own DNS resolution, so a hostname could
resolve to 127.0.0.1/169.254.169.254 between check and connect. The
executor now resolves once (dns.lookup all), rejects if ANY resolved
address is blocked (isBlockedDoorIp: loopback/unspecified/link-local/
metadata incl IPv4-mapped IPv6; RFC1918/LAN/ULA allowed since door
controllers live there), then connects to the validated IP literal so
fetch performs no second resolution (TOCTOU closed). Original Host kept
best-effort; redirect:'manual' retained. Dependency-free (no undici
seam). 33 door-logic tests; suite 532.
Stripe sends zero-decimal currencies (JPY/KRW/VND/...) already in the
major unit; the unconditional /100 recorded a JPY dues charge 100x
understated in the ledger + receipt. minorToMajor is now currency-aware
(shared ZERO_DECIMAL_CURRENCIES/isZeroDecimalCurrency in
notifications-logic); formatMoney renders no fractional part for those.
Never fires for USD; closes silent ledger corruption for such tenants.
Tests added; suite 526+.
Stripe doesn't guarantee event order. A late customer.subscription.
updated carrying an older period overwrote a newer current_period_end,
so graceExceeded flipped a paid member to 'late' and fired a false
'dues lapsed' email + access loss. applySubscription now reads the
stored period and keeps the later of stored vs incoming
(laterPeriodEnd, pure + tested); status still tracks latest sub.status
but grace is computed from the monotonic period.
require_approval was silently void: redeeming an admin-role invite into
a require_approval space yielded role=admin,status=unverified and
requireMemberWithRole never checked status -> instant admin pre-approval.
- PRIVILEGE_STATUSES/isPrivilegeEligible (current|late only; excludes
unverified/inactive). requireMemberWithRole now rejects non-privilege-
eligible status with 'pending approval' before the role check; Member
carries status (getAuthMember selects it). requireMember stays
permissive so unverified members still see their own /me.
- joinSpace rejects a second active membership (single-space model;
prevents the .single() self-DoS).
Deferred (HANDOFF): SECURITY DEFINER helpers user_has_role_in_space/
user_has_permission still ignore status (RLS defense-in-depth, own
careful pass). 524 tests; build clean.
Independent adversarial audit verdict was NOT SAFE; fixed:
- P0-1 /auth/confirm no longer trusts the query `type` (pinned to
'email_change'); a public endpoint feeding an attacker-chosen OTP
type into verifyOtp was an unintended auth entrypoint.
- P0-2 email sync uses the verifyOtp response user, not a follow-up
getUser() that may not reflect the just-verified identity; /me now
reconciles space_members.email against the authoritative auth email
on load, so a missed sync self-heals (no permanent stale email).
- P1-1 requestEmailChange builds the confirm origin from
NEXT_PUBLIC_APP_URL only, never request headers (forged Host could
redirect the confirmation link / capture token_hash).
- P2-1 isSecretConfigField also catches password/token/private_key/
*_token/*_password so non-conventionally-named credentials can't be
stored in plaintext integrations.config.
521 tests; build clean.
PayPal transaction filter + payments mapping + external-id dedupe were
inline and untested, and auth was a hand-rolled select instead of the
shared helper. Extracted to pure lib/paypal-logic.ts (also fixes a
latent throw on a missing/invalid PayPal date by falling back to now);
route now uses requireMemberWithRole. 7 tests; suite 521. Behavior
otherwise unchanged.
The webhook's money/status mapping (Basil field relocations, period
extraction, customer-id unwrap, status patch, invoice->payment row,
minor->major) lived inline in the route with zero test coverage - the
biggest untested critical path in the codebase. Extracted to a pure,
SDK-free lib/stripe/webhook-logic.ts (structural input types) and
refactored the route to only do signature verify + network + DB writes.
12 new tests cover the Basil edges and link/unlink + defaults. Behavior
unchanged; suite 514.
PayPal client_secret (and any secret-named integration field) was stored
plaintext in integrations.config, unlike Stripe/door which use the
AES-256-GCM vault. A DB read or backup leaked it in cleartext.
- lib/secrets/vault.ts: canonical generic storeSecret/readSecret +
isSecretConfigField (the proven Stripe vault logic, generalized).
- saveIntegration: secret-named fields go to the vault, only a *_ref is
kept in config; blank submit preserves the ref (write-only like
Stripe); legacy plaintext auto-migrates into the vault on next save.
- paypal/sync reads client_secret from the vault, transitional fallback
to legacy plaintext until the next save.
- Docs updated (API_REFERENCE, ARCHITECTURE 10.3). 502 tests.
Independent audit verdict was NOT SAFE; all findings fixed:
- dispatcher Idempotency-Key is now per-attempt (${id}:${attempts}),
not row id alone, so a transient-failure response cached by Resend
cannot permanently suppress every retry and silently lose an email.
- enqueueDues is fully try/catch wrapped so a notifications-table or
render failure can never throw into / wedge the Stripe money path.
- dues_lapsed dedupe falls back to the subscription id when periodEnd
is null (canceled/deleted subs), so future lapses no longer collapse
to one key and get suppressed. New test; suite 499.
- documented the dispatcher's once/min concurrency assumption.
lib/email/send.ts: single sendEmail() over Resend's HTTP API (no SDK
dependency). Returns a retryable flag so the dispatcher distinguishes
transient (429 / 5xx / network) from permanent (config / validation)
failures. Unset RESEND_API_KEY/EMAIL_FROM is a clean non-retryable no-op
so a fresh clone still runs. Idempotency-Key wired for retry-safe sends.
Env documented in .env.example. 6 tests (fetch mocked).
Migration 041 + schema.sql section 26: notifications outbox (service-only
writer, admin/board/treasurer SELECT, member self-view via validated
service action like member_billing; (space_id, dedupe_key) unique makes
the webhook enqueue idempotent). lib/notifications-logic.ts is pure:
deterministic dedupe keys, dues email rendering (HTML-escaped, brand-
neutral), terminal-attempt rule. 13 tests. Inert until P2c wires it.
lib/stripe-logic.ts (no SDK/Supabase/React): pinned STRIPE_API_VERSION;
stripeStatusIsPaid; duesMemberStatus (active/trialing->current; past_due
-> current within grace else late; canceled/unpaid/incomplete->late;
NEVER inactive; unknown->null no-op); graceExceeded (fail-safe on
missing/invalid period); priceIdForTier; isStripeConfigured. Suite 479.
Root cause: association only ever looked at the dedicated submitter_email
(public 'your email' box / auth email). A form that asks for email as an
ordinary field stored it in answers, so submitter_email stayed null and
nothing matched -- 'Re-link' reported 0 ('already linked') and the
submission never appeared under the member. New pure deriveSubmitterEmail
(explicit > email-type field answer > any email-looking answer; trimmed
lowercase) + 5 tests. submitForm now derives + persists submitter_email
from answers; relinkAllSubmissions re-derives per submission from its
form_snapshot and backfills member_id + submitter_email for existing
rows. Suite 469.
submitForm now links member_id whenever submitter_email matches a space
member (including raw anonymous public submissions) -- owner-chosen
product decision, with the attribution tradeoff documented inline so a
future audit does not revert it. New pure escapeLike (ILIKE-safe email
match; '_' in addresses is literal) + pickMemberForEmail (deterministic
earliest-joined on duplicates) + 5 tests (suite 464). Shared
linkSubmissionsByEmail helper for reuse; updated the now-superseded
verified-only comment.
Per request. /attendance is now a client view: a 'Here now' section
with host badges + inline self check-in / check-in-as-host / check-out
with a note; and a history with name search, a day picker, grouped-by-
day headers, per-visit duration, status, notes, and a live
visits/members summary for the current filter. New pure tested helpers
dayKey (tz-stable UTC bucket) + visitDurationMinutes (+5 tests, suite
459).
The SSRF pin parser did pinnedHost.split(':')[0], which mangled any
IPv6 pin (e.g. '::1' -> '') so IPv6 controllers could never be pinned
(failed closed). New pure, exhaustively-tested normalizeHost strips
scheme/userinfo/port/path and unwraps [ipv6]/[ipv6]:port/bare-ipv6,
applied to both the request host and the pin so they compare
apples-to-apples. All prior behavior preserved (IPv4, host:port,
userinfo-spoof reject, trailing-dot reject, metadata always blocked);
IPv4-mapped-IPv6 vs IPv4 pin still fails closed. 29 door-logic tests
(was 21); suite 454.
Pure signupFormEligibility (manager override bypasses) + 4 tests.
signUpForClass now: classes.manage override + sign-up-on-behalf
(targetMemberId), and a hard form gate -- if the class has a
required_form_id the member must have a form_submissions row on file
(checked via service client, since a class manager need not hold
forms.manage). create/updateClass validate the form is in-space and
published. listUpcomingSessions exposes required_form {title,url,
satisfied}. Manage UI: published-form picker on create/edit + a 'requires
form' badge. Member UI: shows the requirement, links to the form, and
replaces Sign up with 'Complete required form' until it is on file.
Mirrors the equipment cert-gate pattern.
pickLowestFreeSlot fills gaps before extending (deterministic, compact,
predictable for admins reading the controller). Range is a parameter
(HeatSync passes 0-200) so it stays adapter-generic. Ignores duplicate/
out-of-range/non-integer used slots; reports slot_exhausted when full.
slotCapacity for 'controller full N/N' messaging. 8 unit tests.
Migration 035 adds door_connections (per-space controller integration:
secret_ref -> AES-256-GCM secrets vault, never a plaintext password;
pinned_host SSRF pin; native_heatsync|generic_http adapter;
allow_member_self_entry opt-in for phase 3) and door_access_log
(append-only, secrets redacted, service-client-only writes; immutable).
RLS additive/default-deny: connections CRUD = door.manage; log SELECT =
door.manage/operate.
Safety core is pure and heavily unit-tested (door-logic, suite 409):
validateDoorTarget (request host must equal the pinned host;
metadata/link-local always blocked; http(s) only), the
firmware-verified HeatSync encoders with fixed-width zero-padding
(slot 3 / perm 3 / tag 8 / 4-char password), generic template
substitution, and redactDoorSecrets. lib/door/executor.ts is the single
hardened egress: re-validates the pin, refuses redirects, caps time and
body, redacts before any audit write. The door password is read from the
secrets vault and decrypted server-side only, never returned or logged.
/door/manage (door.manage) configures connections, picks a vault secret,
and runs a safe status-only test. Sidebar Admin link added; "Learn"
moved before "People" per request. Docs updated.
Migration 034 adds member_cards (RFID/NFC UID -> member). The card UID
is treated as a credential: door.manage-only RLS with no member SELECT
policy; the member's own "My access cards" view goes through a service
-client action that returns only count + last4 (never the raw UID).
New door.manage / door.operate permissions (group Access), seeded to
board and backfilled, introduced now for the whole Door epic. Pure
door-logic masking is unit-tested. A per-member "Cards" panel on
/members is gated to door.manage (independent of admin). No controller
calls and no anonymous path in this phase. Mirrored in schema.sql; types
and schema docs updated.
classes-logic.ts: effectiveCapacity (session override > class > unlimited),
computeSignupStatus (registered vs waitlisted), sessionTiming, canSignUp
eligibility, pickPromotion (earliest waitlisted when a seat frees).
Dependency-free, 10 unit tests (suite 372 -> 382).
validations.ts: class/session/signup/attendance schemas. payment_link is
a generic http(s) link only (empty -> null); capacity is a positive int;
no live payment integration.
KB/process content was shown via a bare unsanitized ReactMarkdown in the
ops view dialog (the /ops/[id] route is the editor, not a view). Route
it through the shared SafeMarkdown instead. New dependency-free
lib/markdown-anchors.ts (heading-text flatten, GitHub-ish slug,
per-render dedupe, in-doc href test; unit-tested) is wired into both
SafeMarkdown and MarkdownBody so headings get stable ids and a
[link](#heading) resolves. In-document links no longer force a new tab,
which previously broke the anchor jump for policies/proposals too.
rehype-slug was not added (no offline install); the helper is equivalent
and tested.
certifications-logic.ts: computeExpiry (month math with end-of-month
clamping and year rollover), isCertificationActive, certificationStatus
(revoked > expired > expiring_soon > active). Dependency-free and
unit-tested (16 cases incl. Jan-31 and leap-year boundaries).
validations.ts: create/update/grant/revoke/renew + id/list schemas.
grant's expires_at is an optional override (empty -> null); validity is
a positive integer count of months.
GitHub/Google buttons on the login page pointed at providers that may
not be configured in Supabase, dead-ending in an error. Add
NEXT_PUBLIC_OAUTH_GITHUB / NEXT_PUBLIC_OAUTH_GOOGLE (opt-in, "true" to
show); a provider button renders only when enabled and the whole social
block is hidden when neither is. Pure resolveOAuthProviders helper is
unit-tested; flags documented in .env.example and DEPLOYMENT.md.
Gap: fileIncident minted a reporter_token and the filing UI showed it
("the only way to look it up later") but there was no lookup UI.
- lib/incident-logic.ts (pure, tested): publicIncidentView redacts —
board_only updates, subjects, decision-maker ids dropped; disposition
only surfaced once decided/closed; status label mapping
- trackIncident: public service-client action (token is a 192-bit
bearer credential on a UNIQUE column; anon has no RLS path so the
service client is used AFTER token validation; generic not-found is
enumeration-safe; board_only filtered at the query AND in logic)
- public /track page + client (also accepts ?token= deep link);
/track added to middleware PUBLIC_ROUTES
- filing UI now deep-links /track?token=<code>
- trackIncidentSchema; __tests__/incident-tracking.test.ts (6)
- docs: API_REFERENCE + HANDOFF pass-20 (session arc, web-verified
integration facts, locked forward roadmap, open items incl. the
still-open production incident-INSERT RLS bug)
343 tests; build verified (Compiled successfully, exit 0).
Invites
- migration 029: space_invites.role (member_role enum, default
'member' — legacy invites and the spaces.invite_code path keep
granting member). schema.sql + types/database.ts mirrored
- lib/invite-logic.ts (pure, tested): canAssignInviteRole — admin may
grant any role; board may grant anything except admin; nobody else.
Privilege-escalation guard on top of the existing admin/board gate
- createInvite/updateInvite take + enforce role via that guard;
createInviteSchema/updateInviteSchema validate the enum
- joinSpace applies the invite's granted role (validated), default
member; uses_count/max_uses/expiry already enforced
- invites panel: role picker (filtered to what the creator may grant),
one-click "single use", per-invite role badge
- space-scoped invite link /join/<space>?code=… via a presentational
app/join/[space] landing that hands off to the proven
/signup?invite= flow; /join added to middleware PUBLIC_ROUTES
Audit hardening (from this pass's review)
- /login now honors a validated same-origin ?next= (was hardcoded to
/dashboard) so the public_auth form sign-in round-trips; OAuth
threads next through the callback (which already honored it)
- submitForm requires formId; submitFormSchema drops the now-ambiguous
slug path (form slugs are per-space after 028). Both callers already
pass formId. Tests updated
337 tests; build verified (Compiled successfully, exit 0). No deploy.
- migration 028: drop global UNIQUE(forms.slug), add
UNIQUE(space_id, slug); schema.sql mirrored. Form slugs are now
unique per space (fixes cross-tenant slug squatting)
- getPublicForm now takes { space, slug }: resolves the space by its
slug then the form by space_id + slug (maybeSingle)
- route moved app/f/[slug] -> app/f/[space]/[slug]; the public client
submits by formId (slug is no longer globally unambiguous) and the
sign-in link round-trips the full /f/space/slug path
- forms-guard returns the space slug; the builder + forms list show
the full /f/<space>/<slug> share URL; new/edit pass it through
- middleware /f allowlist already covers /f/<space>/<slug>
- getPublicFormSchema + tests updated (333 pass)
build verified (Compiled successfully, exit 0; new route present). No deploy.
The forms security/correctness logic was buried in DB-coupled server
actions and the builder component, so it had no real tests (the suite
is pure-logic only; nothing exercises Supabase). Extract the pure
parts behaviour-unchanged into lib/forms-logic.ts and test them for
real:
- csvCell (results-export escaping), parseClientIp (e-sign IP capture
filtering), shouldBumpFormVersion (waiver non-blocking re-sign),
evaluateRequiredFormStep (onboarding required/auto-satisfy/fail-open),
slugify + deriveFieldKeys (builder key derivation + dedupe)
- forms.ts / onboarding.ts / form-builder.tsx now consume these; the
local copies are removed (no behaviour change — verified by the full
suite staying green)
- __tests__/forms.test.ts expanded 16 -> 62: every validateAnswers
type/branch (type coercion, length caps, required, unknown-key
stripping, first-error ordering), parseFormSchema, every new Zod
schema incl. formSlug boundaries, and all extracted helpers
333/333 tests; build verified (Compiled successfully, exit 0). No deploy.
- scripts/027 (idempotent CHECK replace) + schema.sql Section 14: allow
space_onboarding_steps.step_type = 'form'; referenced form id lives in
the step's existing config.form_id (no new column)
- finishOnboarding: a required form step is satisfied when a submission
for config.form_id by the member exists (any version — re-sign is
non-blocking / auto-satisfy); fails open if the form is missing or
unpublished so a misconfig cannot trap a member. Probe uses the
service client (submissions are forms.manage-only under RLS)
- onboarding page enriches form steps with the published form def +
prior-submission flag; onboarding-flow renders FormRenderer + waiver
legal text/consent and submits via submitForm then marks the step done
- customize: forms fetched and threaded to the onboarding panel; new
"+ Form step" button + form picker writing config.form_id
- validations/types/casts include 'form'; forms.test.ts +2
- docs: DATABASE_SCHEMA/DB_SCHEMA_MAP/API_REFERENCE/ARCHITECTURE/HANDOFF
287/287 tests, build exit 0. No deploy.
Migration 023 (folded into schema.sql section 15). ADDITIVE and
backward compatible: with no permission/ACL rows the app behaves
exactly as before.
Schema:
- space_role_permissions (space_id, subject, permission); ops_acl
(space_id, entity_type secret|kb|process|area_lead, entity_id,
role). Full RLS, writes admin/board.
- user_effective_roles(uid,sid): built-in role + custom-role slugs +
area_lead:<id> for areas the member leads. SECURITY DEFINER.
- user_has_permission(uid,sid,perm): admin implicit-all else a grant
via an effective role. SECURITY DEFINER.
- secrets/knowledge_base SELECT rewritten as
`exact existing rule OR ops_acl match` (only widens; zero change
with no ACL rows). Seed + backfill default role permissions.
Area-lead roles reuse the existing area_leads table rather than
duplicating the concept: a row is a role, lead_id NULL = Vacant,
assigning sets lead_id, the member then holds area_lead:<id>.
App:
- lib/permissions-catalog.ts (codes + per-role defaults + guardrails),
Zod schemas, lib/actions/permissions.ts (setRolePermissions,
setOpsAcl, createAreaLeadRole, assign/unassign/delete).
- Customize gains Permissions (role x permission matrix, admin shown
implicit-all/locked) and Area leads (create/Vacant/assign) panels,
modular under customize/panels/. Reusable
components/ops/ops-acl-editor.tsx wired into the Secrets list.
Audit-found latent fixes:
- revealSecret errors on encrypted-but-no-ciphertext corruption
instead of silently returning the stale plaintext column.
- upsertAreaLead rejects null/empty area_code (NULLs are distinct in
unique constraints; allowed duplicate rows).
types/database.ts: added the two new tables. 271/271 tests pass,
build clean. KB-modal ACL wiring + members-row shortcut deferred and
tracked in HANDOFF.
Adds proposals + proposal_votes + policies + incidents + incident_updates
tables with full RLS, async voting flow, dismissal-appeal pathway,
versioned policies with provenance, and an anonymous-incident token mode.
Adds per-space configurable areas, financial visibility settings, member
self-profile + COI disclosure, and a mission statement that renders in
the app footer.
Reorganises lib/actions.ts into per-domain files (tasks, projects,
members, payments, contacts, knowledge-base, secrets, area-leads,
settings, imports, proposals, incidents, policies, areas) plus a barrel.
Adds lib/permissions.ts and lib/auth-helpers.ts so action bodies stop
duplicating the user-to-member-to-role check. Wires every action that has
a Zod schema; introduces a flexibleDateTime preprocessor so HTML date
pickers no longer hit "Invalid datetime".
Hardens RLS: drops NOT NULL on space_members.user_id for offline members,
adds a privilege-escalation trigger that blocks self-edits to role / tier
/ status / approved / has_card_access / space_id, closes four
cross-tenant holes in the governance kernel, and adds a partial unique
index so two admins cannot concurrently activate two drafts of the same
policy slug.
Ships every deployment artifact: Dockerfile, docker-compose,
.do/app.yaml, .env.example, /api/health, plus a managed-Supabase guide
(docs/DEPLOYMENT.md), an end-to-end self-hosted Droplet guide
(docs/DEPLOY_DO_SELFHOSTED.md), and a Supabase-CLI local-dev quickstart
(docs/LOCAL_DEV.md). Replaces middleware.ts with proxy.ts for Next.js 16.
Adds scripts/schema.sql as the canonical idempotent full deploy plus
fourteen numbered incremental migrations.
Adds scripts/seed.sql so a fresh local DB renders something instead of
empty pages: a demo space, five members across all roles, a v1 code of
conduct, three proposals in different states with seven votes already
cast, an open incident, a project, three tasks, a KB entry, and matching
activity-log rows.
Replaces v0-generated test scaffolding with 266 real tests across
__tests__/{actions,auth-helpers,components,governance,permissions,
security,utils,validations}.test.ts. Adds react-markdown + remark-gfm
for proposal / incident / policy body rendering. Deletes four dead v0
fix-* scripts, the unused components/app-shell.tsx, and the duplicate
app/auth/login/page.tsx.
Routes (31 total): /api/health, /api/paypal/sync, /auth/callback, /,
/login, /signup, /signup/confirm, /dashboard, /tasks, /projects,
/members, /payments, /financials, /contacts, /ops, /ops/[id], /ops/new,
/proposals, /proposals/[id], /proposals/new, /incidents, /incidents/[id],
/incidents/new, /policies, /policies/[slug], /policies/new, /profile,
/recruitment, /settings, /comms, /import.
Full pass-by-pass history is in docs/HANDOFF.md; the roadmap is in
docs/GOVERNANCE_FEATURES.md.
